Terms of Service
These terms (the "Terms") govern your use of the FilmTone mobile application ("FilmTone", "we", "us"). By installing or using FilmTone, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
1. The service
FilmTone is a film-tone photo and video editor for iOS and Android. It provides film-look presets ("vibes"), color adjustment tools, collage layouts, batch export, and Vietnamese lyric / Story Card overlays. All editing runs on your device.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use FilmTone. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
3. Free tier, FilmTone Pro & rewarded ads
FilmTone is free to install. Most features are free forever. Certain premium presets and packs require either a FilmTone Pro subscription or unlocking via rewarded video.
3.1 FilmTone Pro
- Sold as auto-renewing subscriptions: FilmTone Pro Monthly (US $4.99 / month) and FilmTone Pro Yearly (US $29.99 / year). Local prices follow the App Store / Google Play price tier for your region.
- Renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal in your store settings.
- Refunds: managed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. We can help you locate the store's refund flow on request.
- Unlocks: all film presets, all KOL packs, watermark removal, custom signature, batch export, and AI Style Transfer credits.
3.2 Rewarded video unlock
You can also unlock an individual Pro preset by watching two rewarded video ads. The unlock is permanent for that preset on that device. Ads are provided by Google AdMob (see Privacy Policy §4.2). Watching ads is always optional - you can choose Pro instead, or skip Pro presets entirely.
3.3 Credits
One-time consumable credit packs ($1.99 / $4.99 / $9.99) buy AI edit credits used by features like AI Style Transfer. Credits don't expire.
4. Acceptable use
You may use FilmTone for personal or commercial creative projects. You may not:
- Edit or distribute content that is illegal where you are.
- Use FilmTone to impersonate, harass, or harm others.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source beyond what local law strictly permits.
- Resell or republish bundled vibes / presets as your own product.
5. Your content
Everything you edit stays on your device unless you choose to share or export. You retain full ownership of all original photos, videos, and edits you create with FilmTone. You grant us no license to your content because we never receive it.
6. Our content
FilmTone's preset color formulas, vibe icons, lyric library, onboarding artwork, and app brand are owned by us. You may use exports for your own creative work; please don't claim the preset recipe itself or the lyric set as your own.
7. Vietnamese lyric library
Story Card overlays include short Vietnamese poetry excerpts. All lines are either original works by our team or short excerpts from classical authors whose works are in the public domain under Vietnamese copyright law (75 years post-mortem). Examples: Hàn Mặc Tử (†1940), Nguyễn Khuyến (†1909). We attribute each line to its author in-app.
8. Third-party services
FilmTone integrates with Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Apple App Store, and Google Play. Their respective terms apply when you use those services through FilmTone.
9. No warranty
FilmTone is provided "as is". We can't guarantee that every device or OS combination will produce identical results, that ads will always be available, or that the app will be uninterrupted. We do our best, and we respond to bug reports at the contact below.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to FilmTone is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages such as lost edits, missed opportunities, or device issues caused by other software.
11. Termination
You can stop using FilmTone any time by uninstalling. We may suspend service in your jurisdiction if required by law or if you materially breach these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City, unless mandatory consumer law in your country grants you a different forum.
13. Changes
We'll update the "Last updated" date above when these Terms change. Material changes will also be announced in app release notes.
